Missouri Mayor Says City Will Mine Bitcoins For City Residents
The mayor of a small Missouri town told his Twitter followers that he was going to mine bitcoins and distribute them to the residents of the city.
Jason Stewart is a well-known proponent of cryptocurrency. Earlier, he announced a plan to “distribute” bitcoins for $ 1000 to each resident of the city.
Decentralized technology and bitcoin can solve various problems caused by traditional financial systems and create more effective monetary policy, Stewart said.
However, Stewart did not say anything about the real plan for the extraction of the digital asset.
Some users speculate that the city will use the nearby reservoir to operate a hydroelectric power plant that will promote sustainable passive livelihoods.
